WHAT WE DO

NWAMI works with people from a large variety of backgrounds from all over the world. Our mission is to help break the ice between those of all different cultures and backgrounds to help support people to come together. The focus is on helping to bridge the gap through supporting and encouraging community cohesion, whilst facilitating and assisting the sharing and exchange of cultures. We are committed to removing and reducing any barriers which are faced by those living in today's society by helping to create an interest, understanding and respect for each and every individual.

HOW DO WE DO IT?

NWAMI hosts a variety of events which provide opportunities for people from all over the world to showcase their talents and provide a taste of their own culture. In the past this has involved taking groups to parliament to discuss issues of integration and welfare. The groups were formed largely of international students from Bangor University, who were passionate about supporting welfare and experience of all international students. This can be through the medium of music, dance, poetry or writing. Some events we take part in include celebrations of DIWALI, Black History month, Inter-cultural events all over the country along. Visit our pages to see pictures and more information about the work we have done!

As an organisation, NWAMI aims to support reducing the tension that recent times have brought to the country, supporting equality for all. NWAMI has worked closely with the Police and Crime Commissioner and the local police within Colwyn bay to help to put an end to violence and hate crime.

With support from people like you we hope to carry on our campaign and support those who are feeling isolated and alone to become part of the community. You can support NWAMI and the work being done by becoming campaigning for us, collaborating with us, promoting us and our work or by becoming one of our team of volunteers.
